How do I commission a carving?

Commissioning an artwork is very straight forward. There are steps we take to ensure the artwork delivered meets the customer’s expectations and we receive payment securely upon delivery.

  1. You register your interest or submit your requirements via the CONTACT page on this website.
  2. We respond to your enquiry and ensure that we understand your brief details.
  3. We provide a design specification including a quote in $NZD for the work and delivery that is to be signed and returned. 50% of the total quote value is to be deposited via PayPal at this time also.
  4. Upon receipt of the signed design specification and evidence of funds transferred we begin your carving.
  5. On completion of your carving we provide digital photos of the piece for your review and upon receipt of the balance of payment ship to the destination you have specified.

 

Why is there no artwork for sale on your website?

All pieces are created specifically for each client. Each of our unique works are not only crafted my a master carver but are designed to meet the specific requirements of the individual commission.

 

Can I see some examples of Tipene’s work?

Certainly, we have examples in our personal display case and if you wish to see a specific carving may be able to organise a viewing with the permission of the owner.

 

How do I know that the artwork is authentic?

With counterfeit carvings being made in Asia and other places it is important that you know you are receiving an authentic piece made by a master carver. All artworks are signed by the artist and come with an explanation of the composition and meaning behind the piece. We are also more than happy to supply digital photos of the artist at work on your unique carving.

 

How is the art delivered?

All artworks are professionally packed and delivered in the method agreed to by the customer.

 

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, absolutely!

 

What is your returns policy?

Our commission process is robust and the artwork delivered is as per the design brief and digital photographs we provide. We do not accept returns once we have shipped (with insurance) your artwork.
